When booking a Virginia Beach vacation, excellent seafood should be the second thing you’re the most excited about! Whether you want to stay in the Resort Area and be able to take a short walk to some amazing eateries (or dine directly on the pier) or make a short drive to world-class restaurants, there is something for everyone on our comprehensive list of Virginia Beach’s top seafood restaurants.
Waterman’s Surfside Grille | 415 Atlantic Avenue
A long-time local favorite located in the heart of the Resort Area, Waterman’s is your iconic Virginia Beach seafood restaurant. It has everything you’re looking for: locally sourced seafood, beachfront views, and a gift shop with incredible treasures you won’t find anywhere else on the boardwalk. Bike, stroll, or drive into this fantastic place for brunch, lunch, or dinner seven days a week, but we recommend a reservation because they stay busy!
The Atlantic on Pacific | 3004 Pacific Avenue
In the mood for oysters? Have you never tried one? This is THE premier Virginia Beach locale for oysters at happy hour and general good times! An equally impressive menu that boasts fresh, seasonal fare with staff that prides themselves on forging relationships with local fishermen, this is another can’t-miss destination for an iconic adult beverage and a few dozen oysters. Our suggestion is maybe to make it an adults-only night.
Steinhilbers | 653 Thalia Road
About a 15-minute drive down Highway 264 East and nestled deep in the Thalia neighborhood of Virginia Beach lies Steinhilners. With a rich history nearly as old as the city itself, Steinys was founded in 1939 and maintains their old-world vibe with its rich interior, option to dine in its historic basement, and enchanting terrace overlooking the Lynnhaven River where they frequently harvest oysters. Exceptionally landscaped, a walk around the gardens before, during, or during your meal to see that their food is indeed farm-to-table, coming just a mere few yards to your table. Whether it’s the lobster thermodor, their famous crabcakes, and their renowned oysters Rockefeller, you can’t go wrong with Steinhilbers.
Captain George’s Restaurant | 1956 Laskin Road
There’s something for everyone at Captain George’s Restaurant, Virginia Beach’s premier seafood buffet! Practically miles of fresh seafood line their halls paired with equally delicious sides (don’t sleep on the corn muffins). People come for the abundant snow crab legs and stay for the she-crab soup, another local favorite.
Ocean Eddie’s | 1415 Atlantic Avenue
Who doesn’t love going to dinner on vacation with a nice view overlooking the beach? What if we told you you could dine ON the beach, IN the ocean, ON the pier? That’s the experience at Ocean Eddie’s can provide with fresh seafood you can still taste the saltiness of the Atlantic Ocean itself. Our recommendation is to order a cold beverage and a seafood sandwich for a fantastic afternoon.
The Porch on Long Creek | 2109 W Great Neck Road #102
Looking for a chic happy hour or a low-key dinner with incredible views of the serene Lynnhaven River? Enter The Porch, known for unique and fresh takes on classic seafood dishes; this will be a spot you return to each time you visit Virginia Beach!
