1. Fourth of July Oceanfront Fireworks + Stars & Stripes Celebration
Don't miss out on watching fireworks on the Fourth of July! Make your way down to 24th Street and the Boardwalk to watch the fireworks launch over the Atlantic Ocean at 9:30 p.m. Also, throughout the weekend (July 2-4) there will be FREE live music on the 17th, 24th, and 31st Park Street Stages along the Boardwalk. 2. Family Movie Night at 29th Street Beach
Who doesn't love a movie night? On every Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. Family Great Adventure Movie Series creates a fun movie night on the beach with a giant inflatable movie screen playing family-friendly movies throughout the month of July. Make sure to bring a blanket to spread out on and some popcorn to enjoy the movies featured this month - July 7: Onward, July 14: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, July 21: Aladdin, July 28: Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
3. Go Offshore Fishing
Virginia Beach is a great place to fish on the East Coast because it sits on the Chesapeake Bay AND the Atlantic Ocean which are home to hundreds of species of fish you can catch! Some of the top fish you are most likely to catch in the month of July include: Tuna, Yellowfin is the most popular (and tasty) but you could find yourself catching Bluefin, Bigeye, and Albacore. 6. Cape Henry Lighthouse: Fort Story
Make your way over to one of Virginia Beaches historic sites, the Cape Henry Lighthouse on the Fort Story military base located at the end of the North End streets on 89th and Atlantic Avenue. The lighthouse is situated on the point of Cape Henry where the beginning of the Chesapeake Bay starts. You have the opportunity to tour the lighthouse and have amazing views across the different bodies of water. 7. Amusement Parks: Atlantic Fun Park & Motor World
